When you are stretching your ears, the last thing you want is to spend a fortune on stretching tools. After all, you will probably be switching to other jewellery once you have got to your desired gauge. On the other hand, it is important to get good quality stretching crescents that will be comfortable to stretch will. Here at Body Jewellery Shop we have a great choice of high quality cheap stretching crescents. These crescents are easy to stretch with and they start at just £1.50.
Cheap UV Stretching Crescents
New this month we have a great range of UV stretching crescents. These crescents come in 1.6mm and 2mm, so they are a great way to start stretching up from a standard ear piercing. These crescents are £1.50 and they come in eight different colours. They are very smooth and lightweight, so there is no drag on your piercing. Each one comes with two UV O-rings and they look gorgeous in your piercing.
Acrylic ear stretchers are a cheap, comfortable and easy way to stretch your ears. Acrylic is a high quality plastic that is very light, durable and affordable. I have found acrylic ear stretchers to be very comfortable to use and you can even wear them as jewellery after you have stretched your ears. The main advantage of acrylic ear stretchers is how lightweight they are. Heavy stretchers can pull on your piercings but with acrylic, you’ll hardly feel them at all. This puts less stress on the piercing and gives it a better chance of healing quickly. It also makes them comfortable to wear while your ear is healing – even at night.
There are 3 main shapes of ear stretchers: spiral, crescent and straight. They are all used in the same way but some people find different shapes more comfortable. You can also choose the one you think looks best. At Body Jewellery Shop we have a great choice of acrylic ear stretchers in different colours, sizes and shapes.
If you want to make a statement while you stretching your ears, take a look at out range of UV stretching tapers. UV tapers glow brightly under UV light or black light, so they are a great option for clubbers or any one who loves bright colours. Most UV stretching tapers are made from UV-reactive acrylic. Not all acrylic is UV reactive, so it is worth checking before you purchase your tapers. UV-reactive acrylic is a lightweight, cheap and comfortable material for stretching. Most people find it very comfortable and some even continue wearing their tapers after they are done stretching.
If you’re thinking about stretching your ears, I recommend using buffalo horn stretching crescents. Buffalo horn crescents are great to stretch with and they are great to wear after you have reached your desired size. Buffalo horn is one of the most biocompatible natural materials for body jewellery and it is very comfortable to wear. It does not react with your skin and is suitable for even sensitive piercings. It is also suitable for fresh stretches. Another quality that makes buffalo horn stretching crescents ideal for stretching is their smoothness. Buffalo horn can be polished to a beautifully smooth shine. It slides gently into stretchings, without the drag factor common to some other materials. Water buffalo horn is natural shed once a year, so it is obtained without harming the buffalo.
Buffalo Stretching Crescents Kit
Buffalo Stretching Crescents Kit
This buffalo horn stretching crescent kit is a very popular way to stretch. It includes five crescents that will take you from a standard size ear piercing – usually 1.2mm (16g) right up to 10mm (00g). I used these crescents to stretch my ears and I was really pleased with them. I used a little olive oil on the crescents and they slid in nicely. I healed up fairly rapidly and found them very comfortable to wear in between sizes. Once I got to 10mm I decided to rest my ears before going up to 12mm, so I wore the largest crescent and a matching one for a while. They look really good in your stretchings and I got lots of compliments on them. I then used a taper to go up another 2mm but I am really glad I used the crescents up to 10mm.
Natural amber flesh plugs are comfortable to wear and they make a very stylish alternative to the usual metal and plastic plugs. Amber is the fossilised resin of conifer trees and most amber is over 40 million years old – definitely a bit different to your run of the mill stretching jewellery!
Amber is a beautiful material and personally I think it looks great as body jewellery. Amber flesh plugs come in a range of warm, natural colours that look very flattering. And when the light hits them, amber flesh plugs look even better – the way the glow in the light looks gorgeous. In terms of comfort, amber is a great material for flesh plugs. It is chemically inert, which means that it does not react or cause your skin to react. Amber is non-irritating and highly biocompatible, so it is recommended for people who find metal jewellery irritating. Amber is hard but it feels much nicer and ‘softer’ in your piercings than metal.
Amber Flesh Plugs
Amber Flesh Plugs
These are our standard amber flesh plugs and they have proved very popular. These are unflared plugs and at £11 they are an affordable option. As you can see, these amber flesh plugs have a lovely warm orange-yellow colour. They are quite translucent, so they catch the light and you can often see through them. They are made from natural Baltic amber so the colour will vary slightly between individual plugs. If you have never worn amber jewellery before and you want to experiment, I recommend purchasing a pair of these amber plugs.
