There is a vast selection of belly jewellery available, to suit all tastes and occasions. Belly Jewellery comes in a variety of materials too, so you can choose the best option for your own piercing.
Choosing Your Belly Jewellery
Choosing belly jewellery isn’t too difficult, as long as you know which size will fit your belly piercing. The best thing to do before choosing your jewelry is to measure your belly piercing (instructions are provided further down). The standard belly piercing gauge is 1.6mm thickness, also known as 14 gauge. Lengths, however, will vary from person to person as this will depend on the placement of your belly piercing. The most common lengths are 8mm and 10mm, although some people will have 6mm and 12mm belly piercings too!
Measuring Your Belly Jewellery
The length of your belly jewellery is measured as the distance between the balls of your belly bar or the internal diameter of your belly ring. This measurement relates to the distance between the two holes of your belly piercing.
The ‘gauge’ is the thickness of the belly jewellery, relating to the thickness of your piercing. Belly piercings are initially pierced at a standard 1.6mm (14ga) size but can also be stretched to larger gauges if you choose to do this, although this will limit the types of belly jewellery you can choose.
Bananabell Belly Jewellery
Bananabell belly jewellery, which is also known as belly bars, bananabells and belly studs are curved bars that sit through the belly piercing, usually available in a selection of sizes from 6mm to 12mm. There are many different colours and designs to choose from, so your belly piercing will always stand out in style!
Belly jewellery comes in a choice of materials, some examples include surgical steel, plastic, titanium, blackline, PTFE and Zircon Gold. You may be confused about the choice as there is so much on offer! No need to worry, the most important thing is knowing which, if any, allergies you may have to any of these materials (one common allergy is to Nickel, which is found in Surgical Steel and some Gold).
If you do not knowingly have any allergies, then the choice is yours! You will find a vast selection of styles and colours in each different material, so the choice will be down to your personal preference. Surgical Steel belly jewellery will be amongst the cheapest of metals, Titanium belly jewellery is a nickel-free, stronger, slightly lighter and more colourful metal to choose from, Blackline belly jewellery is the only choice for black coloured metal, Zircon Gold belly jewellery is the only gold coloured metal.
Non-metal Bioplast belly jewellery is great for pregnancy, surgery and other medical reasons (hospital visits, scans and x-rays).
Belly Jewellery Accessories
Belly jewelry can also be accessorised with belly jewellery accessories including navel rounders, navel chains and navel orbitals, which instantly transform the look of your belly piercing without having to buy a new belly bar. Simly add one of these adornments or charms to your existing belly bar and that’s it!
