Here at Body Jewellery Shop we are all about giving you the coolest looks for the best price and can’t beat our new PMMA flesh plugs and tapers. These clever pieces of body jewellery come in 3 parts that you can mix and match to form either a taper or a flesh plug. When you buy any of these PMMA flesh plugs you get a 1 flesh plug with a cool design, 1 tapered back and 1 flat back – as shown on the right. You can screw the two different back pieces onto the plug to get either a plug or taper and switch up your look as often as you like. These plugs are not used for stretching your ears; they just give you an awesome look.
If you are looking for something a little different, I recommend taking a look at glass flesh plugs. You might not think of glass as an obvious material for body jewellery but it actually makes a lot of sense. Glass is chemically inert so it is comfortable and it is surprisingly durable. Here at Body Jewellery Shop all our glass flesh plugs are made from lead-free borosilicate glass. This type of glass is completely biocompatible and cannot irritate your skin. It is extremely comfortable to wear and I recommend it for people who have had bad reactions to other materials. Borosilicate glass is also extremely durable and shatterproof. The glass flesh plugs won’t break if you drop them and you would actually have to try very hard to crack them! We have been selling glass flesh plugs for almost a decade and no one has ever had a glass flesh plug break.
Plain Glass Flesh Plugs
Plain glass flesh plugs look great and they are very comfortable to wear. The flesh plug pictured on the left is one of our best-sellers and it also comes in red and clear glass. As you would expect, glass has a very smooth surface. This means that glass flesh plugs are easy to insert and remove. The smoothness of the glass reduces friction against your skin and they do not ‘drag’ on newly stretched ears. These coloured glass flesh plugs look even better when sunlight hits them. It makes the colour really come alive, perfect for a bright, summery look.
I love the natural look and for me, wood flesh plugs are the best option for stretched ear jewellery. I have been wearing wood flesh plugs for the last few years and I find them the most comfortable and easiest type of stretching jewellery to wear. Everyone is different of course but for me, wooden flesh plugs are definitely the best option.
You can find flesh plugs made in a huge range of woods and designs, some of which I have featured below. Personally I like wearing wood flesh plugs because of both the look and the comfort factor. My stretchings used to become sore after wearing metal plugs for any length of time but that just doesn’t happen with wood flesh plugs. I find that my ears do react to the wood at all, which means no soreness, no irritation and no odour. Wood flesh plugs are famous for reducing odour and this is definitely true in my experience. They are also very lightweight which is essential at high gauges, as large, heavy metal plugs can increase your gauge gradually if you wear them for a long time.
Ear gauge plugs are one of the most popular types of jewellery for stretched ears, otherwise known as ‘ear gauges’. The other types of jewellery that you can wear in ear gauges are flesh tunnels, claws and stretching tapers.
There is a huge choice of ear gauge plugs available online, from basic acrylic plugs to elaborate designs and expensive plugs set with precious stones. Here at BJS we have hundreds of different ear gauge plugs, some of which you can see below. Ear gauge plugs come in different sizes, which are called ‘gauges’. It is important to know which gauge you need in order to get the right size. If you have ear gauge plugs but you are not sure what size they are, I recommend using our Jewellery Gauge Sizer page to measure them.
Cheap Ear Gauge Plugs
As I mentioned above, there is a great choice of ear gauge plugs available, including with regard to price. If you want cheap ear gauge plugs that still look great, there are plenty of options to choose from. Here at BJS we have ear gauge plugs starting at £1.95 and we work hard to ensure that even our cheapest plugs are still great quality. Below are some of our most popular cheap ear gauge plugs. The Darkside Ear Gauge Plugs are a real must-have but the other two are ideal if you want to make more of a style statement.
Our new 2in1 PMMA Flesh Plugs are a great choice for those on a budget. These flesh plug and taper sets can be worn as a flesh plug or a taper, so you get two cool looks in one. They consist of three parts: 1 flesh plug back, 1 tapered back and a front disc that screws onto both of them. This means you can have a straightforward PMMA flesh plug or go with a taper to make more of a statement. Personally I love the striking look of a taper but find them uncomfortable to sleep in. This 2in1 set allows me to have both, with a cool design on the front disc.
If you have stretched your ears to over 20mm, mega flesh plugs are the perfect way to show them off. Mega plugs are flesh plugs over 20mm in diameter – equivalent to 13/16″. When your plugs get to this big it is important to have jewellery that is kind to your ears, made in materials that will not irritate the skin, be uncomfortable or weigh down your stretchings. Mega flesh plugs fulfil all these requirements because they are made from lightweight, skin-friendly materials that feel very comfortable to wear.
PMMA Mega Flesh Plugs
PMMA is an excellent material for mega plugs because it is very lightweight, cheap, durable and comfortable. It is a variety of skin-friendly plastic and can be made in lots of different colours and styles. PMMA mega flesh plugs are smooth and light, so they cannot put stress on the piercing. The fact that they are so light means that they do not stretch your piercings over time or lead to uneven thickness of the stretching-wall. They also come in a fab range of bright colours and UV-reactive styles that really stand out.
Flesh plugs are designed for stretched ear piercings. You can find an extraordinary range of flesh plugs in many different colours and designs to suit your very own style, from a large range of materials including buffalo horn flesh plugs, coral flesh plugs, PMMA acrylic flesh plugs, silicone flesh plugs, blackline flesh plugs, zircon gold flesh plugs, titanium flesh plugs, glass flesh plugs, glow in the dark flesh plugs, surgical steel flesh plugs, amber flesh plugs, ultra violet UV flesh plugs, and nut and wood flesh plugs. With such a fabulous choice of flesh plug jewellery to choose from, we guarantee you’ll find something for all occasions.
